BALLANTINE'S NIGHT
ＪＥＴ ＬＡＧなんて皆無！
ＦＲＩＤＡＹ，オンエアもＰＲＩＶＡＴＥも全開。
普段は蒸留酒を飲まないＣＩＮＤＹですが、素晴らしいウイスキーは、ＷＩＮＥと同じように、食事に合わせても愉しめるのだなあと実感した、そんなイベントに出かけてきました。
代官山のＡＳＯのバンケットに使う広間で、１８０年の伝統を持つスコッチウイスキー、ＢＡＬＬＡＮＴＩＮＥ’Ｓのテイスティング＆ディナー（着席式です）が開催されました。
アンバサダーとして楽しみ方、味わいや歴史などを世界中に広めている、ＫＥＮ ＬＩＮＤＳＥＹ氏が来日。
スコットランドの伝統のキルトで正装。
一度ＤＵＢＡＩでのＰＡＲＴＹでやはりのこ正装の紳士をお見かけした事があったっけ。
昨夜のＣＩＮＤＹはＲＯＢＥＲＴＯ ＣＡＶＡＬＬＩのＡＢＩＴＯ ＤＡ ＳＥＲＡ・イブニングガウンでした。
さて
テーブルの上にはこんな設えが・・・
１２年、１７年、２１年に３０年。
色も味も香りも、質感も異なる、それを実感して行きます。
樽香の違いも。
テイスティングの前に、まずスコットランドの地形などなどから始まって、ウイスキーに関していっぱい知る事が出来ました。そうすると興味もわいてきますよね。
その後、ディナーはＡＳＯのシェフがバランタインズに合わせてクリエイトしたメニュー。
３品の短めコースでしたが、このＡＮＴＩＰＡＳＴＯが印象的なプレゼンテーションでした。
ＤＯＬＣＥは、お残ししちゃった同じテーブルの方々の分も、計３皿頂いちゃった私、もうお腹いーっぱい。
家に帰って、改めて家に何本も有る３０年のＢＡＬＬＡＮＴＩＮＥ’Ｓに、敬意を表したのでありました・・・
やはり何でも、ホンモノって素晴らしいですね！
